The girls had been suffocated, their wrists bound with zip ties, and each had a plastic bag placed over their heads. The man responsible for their deaths, their father Travis Decker, remains on the run, and authorities have warned the public about his dangerous potential due to his extensive military training.
Before the devastating discovery, Whitney Decker had suspected that her daughters were in grave danger. When Travis failed to return the girls after a scheduled visitation, Whitney reached out to the authorities, expressing her concerns. She begged for an Amber Alert, but the police refused, stating that the case did not meet the necessary requirements.
The Heartbreaking Refusal: A Mother’s Plea for Help
Whitney’s lawyer, Arianna Cozart, revealed that despite Whitney’s repeated warnings, police insisted that the situation did not warrant immediate action. Cozart emphasized that Whitney’s plea for an Amber Alert could have been the crucial step in preventing the deaths of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia. “We may never know if an Amber Alert could have saved their lives, but it could have made a difference,” Cozart stated in a press release.
