A serious road accident occurred on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, on DN22, in Constanța County, between the localities of Săcele and Tariverde, in the Gura Dobrogei area, at kilometer 264. Following the collision between three cars, a man lost his life and other people were injured, some of them in serious condition.

Violent impact and incarcerated victims
According to initial reports, the impact was particularly violent, and two of the victims remained trapped in the damaged cars. They are two men aged 31 and 33, for whom the rescue crews’ intervention took place against the clock.
When rescuers arrived, one of the victims was unconscious, without a pulse and not breathing, in cardio-respiratory arrest. Despite resuscitation maneuvers, doctors were unable to save his life.
A total of five people were involved in the accident. In addition to the deceased man, three other people — aged 23, 74 and 31 — were injured and required medical attention. Two of the injured were transported to hospital by ambulance, and one was taken by a SMURD helicopter, due to the severity of his injuries.
A fourth person involved, a 71-year-old man, refused transport to the hospital and was medically evaluated at the scene.
Traffic jam and complex intervention
The intervention of the rescue crews was complex, and road traffic on DN22 was completely blocked in both directions to allow access for intervention vehicles and the conduct of rescue operations.
Representatives of the Constanța County Police Inspectorate transmitted the first official information about the accident, confirming the involvement of three cars and the existence of one deceased person, as well as several injured people who were transported to medical facilities for treatment.
