A former player at Poli Timișoara, Rocar, Universitatea Craiova, Dinamo, Beijing Guoan, Rapid and Anorthosis, Dan Alexa hung up his boots in 2014, after which he became a coach. His first team was Poli Timișoara, then he moved on to Rapid, ASA Târgu Mureș, Concordia Chiajna, Dunărea Călărași, Astra, CSM Reșița, SR Brașov and CS Tunari, and last year he returned to the group on the banks of the Bega River.
