Earlier in the week a massive power outage knocked out the electrical grid inside the main food hall, cutting air conditioning and causing vendors’ entire ice cream stocks to melt. Before the celebrations even began, a piece of stage decor fell from the ceiling and nearly landed on a group of dancers.

Vanilla Ice was scheduled to headline the mainstage but his set was canceled just two hours before showtime due to bad weather. And multiple news networks have drawn attention to the sparse turnout, with senior US officials reportedly addressing audiences of fewer than 30 people at trade panels during peak hours.
