We can ask another adult to look around.
And then we can do it again when the baby learns something new.
Because babies don’t stay still.
Their world expands every day.
So should our awareness.
Turning grief into action is not about pretending tragedy can always be prevented. It is about recognizing that small changes can sometimes create an enormous difference.
One locked drawer.
One secured piece of furniture.
One removed cord.
One tiny object picked up from the floor.
One more ordinary afternoon protected.
And for a parent, an ordinary afternoon with a healthy child isn’t ordinary at all.
It’s miraculous.
It’s everything.
