Iran has fired Sejil ballistic missiles toward central Israel. With a range of over 2,000 km and significant striking power, this strategic weapon marks a new stage in the military escalation in the Middle East.
For the first time since the start of the Middle East conflict , Iran fired Sejil ballistic missiles toward central Israel on Sunday, March 15, according to images broadcast by Iranian state television. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed the use of this strategic, twin-engine missile , powered by solid fuel and capable of being launched without a dedicated launch platform, reports BFMTV . Tested as early as 2008, the Sejil is approximately 25 meters long and can carry a warhead weighing about one ton, giving it significant destructive power.
“These are missiles with a range exceeding 2,000 km , so that’s already a worrying performance. And it’s a heavier missile, with greater destructive power,” explained Admiral Richard Wilmot-Roussel, former commander of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, on BFMTV. With a range of over 2,000 km, this missile can strike the entire Middle East and could even reach countries in southeastern Europe , such as Greece or Bulgaria.
