Ukraine was attacked again by Russia on the night of Sunday to Monday, June 14 to 15. Drones and missiles hit several areas of the country, and in Kiev, loud explosions were heard during the night and in the early hours of the morning. As a result of the attacks, at least nine people died.

In the capital, among the affected targets is also the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Mother of God, in the Pechersk Lavra, one of the most important places of Ukrainian Orthodoxy. Several residential buildings were also damaged, and six people were injured. Images released after the attack show the cathedral in flames. “The roof of one of the holiest places in the Christian world – the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in the Pechersk Lavra – is burning,” Metropolitan Epiphany, leader of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, wrote on Platform X.
